Bill Waidlein, head football coach is considered to be the busiest man
on the Hays campus. He coaches football, is the engineer for the
institution, and takes the roll in the classroom as Professor of Physics.
Bill is a product of the Jayhawk, where he is upheld as one of the
best athletes of all time. He made three K's in football and was
selected as captain of the All-Missouri Valley team.

FRANK P. MAN DEVI LLE

has been Director of Athletics at Hays State Teachers College four
years. He is Head Coach of Basketball and Track and has develop-
ed first division teams in these two sports. His slogan is, “Athletics
for All," In carrying out this idea he has developed one of the best
departments of physical education for men in the Kansas Conference,

Custer Hall, the college dormitory for women, was founded in 1921, when
the Kansas Legislature granted an appropriation to the Kansas State Teach-
ers College for the building* The total cost of the building and its equip-
ment was $102,000. This buildnig occupies a very attractive spot across Big

PRINCIPAL CHANGES IN THE FOOTBALL
RULES FOR 1926

A five yard penalty (in addition to loss of a down)
is now imposed in each instance where a team !;
makes more than one incompleted forward pass
during the same series of four downs.

A team which has scored a safety will now put the
ball into play by a kick from its own 20-yard line. j!

The ball is automatically dead (and no further play
can result) whenever it crosses the side line, the
side line extended or the end line. •!
